Donald Trump has called Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell ’Mr. Too Late’ and claimed that there is virtually no inflation, despite rising energy and food costs. Trump advocated for preemptive interest rate cuts, stating that the economy could slow unless Powell acts. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported a 0.1% drop in the consumer price index for March, marking the first inflation decrease in nearly five years.
